4th of July Weekend

Had an exciting weekend with the 41.  Dorr Mi had their 15th annual Car show and 4th celebration on Sunday.  80 or so cars entered the show and 5 of them were members of the Road Rodz.  Four of us Road Rodz members won trophies, including me! 

Monday was the 4th and the wife and I were in the Grandville parade.  It was a sunny and warm day and we were both sweating pretty good by the end of the parade.  Idling along a parade route with no air circulating through the car gets a bit hot!  That was the second parade of the year since we also did the Jenison Memorial Day Parade.  We both agreed we won't be doing any more parades. 
     Following the parade, I drove out to Allendale to attend the Car Show there.  9 other members of the Road Rodz were in attendance making for one of the best club turnouts for a show.  I didn't enter the show since it was late and the voting was done but I did get a chance to meet a couple guys I hadn't met previously and got to see the trophy presentations.  Big Daddy Don's 37, Art's 56 Chevy and Steve's 34 all won plaques for being in the top 15.  Even though the 41 wasn't entered in the show and it was parked behind the other cars, it attracted quite a bit of attention.  I answered questions from several folks who enjoyed seeing the car.
